This blog is a journal of how I process -- along with the results --the creative aspects of the world around me.Markhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16690836446655745003noreply@blogger.comBlogger215125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1288271764357479846.post-18712885056613601312015-08-08T16:02:00.002-07:002015-08-08T16:10:22.666-07:00Screen Test
Here's a teaser for something that I will be announcing in the near future. I am in the process of finalizing a new position for a fabric company where I will be the visible "face" representing and developing the brand. So here are some personal screen tests that I have done. In no way do these represent the company I am going to be promoting. Rather these are me getting comfortable in front of Markhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16690836446655745003noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1288271764357479846.post-67989901114229681052015-08-05T05:34:00.002-07:002015-08-05T05:34:53.351-07:00Leaving Pittsburgh Be-Heinz Me

Unfortunately photography was not allowed in the house or on the terraces so images are very limited to what I was allowed to document. Don't think that I wasn't very unhappy!!!

The Andy Warhol Museum
Unfortunately their photograph museum, like almost all museums, prohibit photography. There were a few places that visitors are allowed to use photographic devices but there wasn't much to view. Here are a few snaps of my visit Friday evening.
The Andy Warhol Museum is seven floors, and one of the largest museums in the world dedicated to a single artist. Sue of The Needlework Factory interpreted a quilt that was designed by Marinda out of my Rock Candy collection for Blank Quilting. Nothing bad but not necessarily all good - just regular day to day life. When your days are filled with things to do, people to see, places to go, time to chill... it's all good and it's mind boggling that it's been almost 3 months since my last post.
I'll pick up from here - Saturday, July 25th - and hopefully blog forward while revisiting in the time Markhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16690836446655745003noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1288271764357479846.post-34889834039953812092015-04-23T17:27:00.000-07:002015-04-23T17:51:03.850-07:00Art of Trash - Trashion Show 2015
What do you do when you when your housemate asks you how your Trashion Show pieces are coming along?
Answer, of course.
And then what do you do when you say you're on schedule to start a concerted and focused effort to knock them out starting Sunday because I have everything worked out in my head, on paper... I have notes and clear vision.

I thought I would repost this as it is some of my favorite artwork. Maybe this is how Warhol started?
If memory serves me correctly the following occurred because two things came about to me at roughly the same time. I used the new embroidery design Sue of The Needlework Factory had just completed - the Jeepers Creepers skull embroidery - with my new found talents with cutting, copying, Markhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16690836446655745003noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1288271764357479846.post-2308699596141312922015-02-26T17:45:00.002-08:002015-02-26T17:45:12.895-08:00A Friend Made Me A Quilt
The next day I hung it up in the only place that was suitable,
in front of the large sliding doors to the porch.
The light shone through the backing and wool batting to create this satined glass effect. When I take more shots of the quilt I'll share more with you!

This is an embroidered piece of fabric that has been folded to look like a men's tie. When I actually construct it, the bottom edge will be fringed and it will have a very light interlining since the cloth is on the heavy side for a tie.

Lilikoi, or Passion fruit blossoms. Notice the similarities and distinctive differences in the blooms. The one on the left produces the yellow skinned fruits, while the one on the right, the purple skinned ones. The flavor is basically the same with the purple skinned fruit tasting a bit more perfumy, in my opinion.

Do you pin?
If you don't then just skim through the boards and look at the pictures.
It's a work in progress but eventually I hope to have a comprehensive online portfolio of my work - everything from designs, fabric, projects, photos, food and whatnot.
So why don't you hop on over and see what I've got pinned thus far?
